Delhi Capitals has been one of the consistent performing teams in the Indian Premier League. The franchise has qualified for the playoffs in the last three seasons.

However, after the IPL 2022 auction, all the teams seem to have changed and Delhi Capitals is also ready to take the field with many new faces.

However, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting believes that it is not going to be so easy for new players to mix in the team.

But Ponting has been using his method to bring the team together and groom the retained players to lead the way and guide the youngsters.

Delhi Capitals had retained four players, captain Rishabh Pant, opener Prithvi Shaw, spin all-rounder Axar Patel and South African pacer Nortje, ahead of the auction and coached the rest of the team before the league starting March 26. Trying my best to know.

“I have asked the players to keep their doors open when they are in their rooms and get to know each other,” Ponting said in a release issued here. I’m going to have breakfast, lunch and dinner with all the young players I don’t know.

The former Australia captain said, “When you show love to young players as a coach or a senior player, you know they are going to return it. Players who have been in the Delhi Capitals camp for some time now definitely have a responsibility to guide the youngsters in the team.

Ponting said, “Rishabh is the captain of the team so he is going to do this work anyway, but people like Prithvi, Akshar and Nokia will also have their roles and responsibilities within the team.”

Ricky Ponting has been impressed by the energy of the players since joining the team in his first training session.” Our focus at this point is that we are ready for our first match. I had a great first session with the players.”

Delhi Capitals have new foreign players like David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Tim Seifert and Rovman Powell, while Vicky Ostwal, Chetan Sakariya, Yash Dhull, Sarfaraz Khan and Kamlesh Nagarkoti are the Indian youngsters in the squad.

Delhi Capitals team will start its campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 27.
