TATA IPL 2022: Harshal Patel says, ‘Virat Kohli’s advice helped him in IPL’ and earned the card for International cricket

RCB fast bowler Harshal Patel is all set to do wonders in the IPL. His career has reached new heights in the last one year.

Harshal, who started his career as a bowling all-rounder, has shown his bowling flair in the 2021 IPL itself and has proved that he is an expert in deceiving the batsmen on any pitch.

Harshal’s performance, especially in limited-overs cricket, has been phenomenal. He credits this to Virat Kohli.

Following whose advice, confidence came in him and he took the wickets of legendary batsmen first in IPL and then in international cricket.

Harshal Patel shone under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma after Virat and is now ready to do wonders under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis.

All eyes will be on Harshal, the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2021, and it will be a big challenge for him to justify the 10.75 crores he got in the Mega Auction.

Outstanding performance in international cricket

After IPL 2021, Harshal performed amazingly in his first three matches at the international level as well. He took two wickets each in all the matches and the economy was also very good. In front of Abh Harshal, there is a challenge to do wonders under the captaincy of Du Plessis.

According to Harshal, Virat and Rohit have an important contribution in taking his career to this level. No one expects a bowler to take 32 wickets in the same season after consuming 37 runs in an over. It was because of Virat’s support that Harshal’s confidence returned and he made a great comeback.

Rohit’s captaincy in international cricket allowed him to continuously improve. In the match against West Indies, Harshal had dismissed Romario Shepherd for just eight runs in the 19th over, who had hit three sixes before being dismissed.

His brilliance overturned the match in India’s favour. India cleared the Caribbean team by winning this match and series.

Harshal Patel praises Virat Kohli

Harshal revealed at an event in Bangalore
Speaking to Hindustan Times at an event in Bangalore, Harshal said, “I was very lucky in the case of Rohit and Virat.

Both of them gave me a chance to openly show my natural game. Both never told me what to do and were always given the freedom to tell me what to do, because I know my game.

You won’t always succeed, but we will always support you. I’m sure Duplessis will put the same faith in me.”
