Recently, the Melbourne Cricket Club made several amendments to the existing rules of the game. One of the major amendments was to move the run-out of a non-striker from ‘unfair play’ to Law 38, which deals with ‘run out.
This dismissal method is commonly known as ‘Mankad’, which has been used by many bowlers apart from Ravichandran Ashwin.
However, there has been a lot of opposition in the past to the method of such dismissal as many consider it inappropriate.
For the time being, the Melbourne Cricket Club has removed the Mankading rule from the category of ‘unfair play’, after which Mankading will now be considered run out.
At the same time, after the Mankading rule was considered run out, India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was seen talking about it.

Ashwin has posted a video on his YouTube channel, in which he is seen saying that the “real unfair game” is that of a non-striker who leaves the crease early.

In this case, Ashwin said, “He referred to the run-out at the non-striker’s end attempted by the bowler under the category of ‘unfair play. In this whole scenario, the play of a non-striker leaving the crease early is unfair.”
Not for the bowler to get him out.” He said that earlier it was called Mankad, which was named after the Indian legendary cricketer. But now it has been changed to run out.
They have destroyed the whole concept and termed it as run-out law. The bowler was expected to warn before the batsmen left the crease at the non-striker’s end.
Continuing his point, Ashwin said, “Now they have declared that what the non-striker is doing is simply wrong and therefore the bowler can run him out if the non-striker is given the ball before the bowler is given the ball.” Tries to leave the crease.”
Ravichandran Ashwin had Mankad out Jos Buttler, playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019. Buttler, who was playing for 69 runs, went out of the crease even before Ashwin could bowl. In such a situation, seeing the opportunity, his bails were dropped by Ashwin. After this Buttler was given out by the umpire.
