Team India skipper Rohit Sharma wishes Suryakumar Yadav for a speedy recovery

Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Wednesday wished injured batsman Suryakumar Yadav a speedy recovery. Ahead of the T20I series against Sri Lanka starting on Thursday, Suryakumar and pacer Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the series due to injuries.

He further added Suryakumar’s injury is a blow. He was in great form as we saw in the last series and he was the man of the series. But a lot of people are waiting for an opportunity and are more than happy for them to come and fill.

Also, I am a little sad for Suryakumar, as he was in such a great form and wanted to continue his stellar form.

Rohit Sharma wishes Suryakumar Yadav

In the recent T20I series against West Indies, Suryakumar became the leading run-scorer in three matches with scores of 34, 8 and 65 not out and led India to a 3-0 series win.

Suryakumar scored an unbeaten 34, 64 and 6 in the ODI series against the same opposition with the same score. Also, Yadav jumped 35 places to 21st in the latest ICC T20 rankings.

But you can’t help because of the injuries, he said. Also soon you can’t control these things. But I wish him a speedy recovery and he will be back soon, but there are a lot of players in the team who are waiting for the opportunity. I would be really happy for him to come and complete the work for the team.

Suryakumar and Chahar will now go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for further management of their injuries.
