The legendary batsman of India, Sachin Tendulkar, is a person who usually stays calm even in distressing situations. Whenever there were controversies about him, he always handled them calmly.
Cricket fans talk about MS Dhoni and his calmness, but the way Sachin has played cricket during his long career, never showing anger during judgements and several heated moments, says a lot about him. So whenever Tendulkar says something harsh, it is something everyone needs to pay attention to, like he did after India’s defeat in the World Test Championship Final yesterday.
Top order again failed at crucial stage
India lost the WTC final against Australia by 209 runs. It is seen at many crucial stages of the games, especially knockout games, that India’s batting order collapses when it is needed the most. This is what happened in the WTC final. In India’s first innings, the top batting order crumbled too soon, and India lost crucial wickets that included Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli.
The star-studded batting order failed to impress at a very important stage of the game, and it was Rahane and Shardul Thakur who led the team forward and scored some important runs. On the fourth day, India got a gigantic target of 444 runs from Australia, and as the chase began, India again lost early wickets, giving Australia a big advantage and making it easy for them to win.
Tendulkar showed support for Ashwin
While many of us believe that India lost due to their batting collapse, was that really the reason? or The team lost the game on the first day only when they excluded the No. 1 test bowler in the world, Ravichandran Ashwin, from the playing XI.
“Overcast conditions” was the reason given by Rohit Sharma when he gave the reason to exclude Ashwin from the squad. This decision was highly criticised by many cricket fans, including Sachin Tendulkar, who voiced his support for India’s most successful off-spinner in Tests.
Skilled spinners use drift- Sachin Tweeted
Congratulations to Team Australia on winning the #WTCFinal. @stevesmith49 and @travishead34 set a solid foundation on Day one itself to tilt the game in their favour. India had to bat big in the first innings to stay in the game, but they couldn’t. There were some good moments…

After India’s crushing defeat, Tendulkar tweeted about the match, congratulating Australia and praising Steve Smith and Travid Head, who led their team to the big total. Tendulkar further mentioned that he failed to understand Ashwin’s exclusion from the playing XI in such a crucial match when he is the No. 1 test bowler. He also mentioned that skilled spinners don’t always rely on turning tracks.
