After a defensive exodus, Juventus expanded their defensive options with Gleison Bremer.
A little about Gleison Bremer
The Bianconeri have confirmed the transfer addition of center Torino in a deal worth up to €50m, while Gleison Bremer has signed a contract until 2027 with Juventus. The Turin outfit was locked in a race against Serie A rivals Inter for the Brazilian player’s services, after an impressive city-wide campaign in Torino. Now, in the wake of the departure of Dutch footballer Mattijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich, Allegri’s side have forced their player to plug a gap in their defensive line.
Having arrived in Europe from Atlético Mineiro in 2018, Gleison Bremer spent his first season as an understudy in Torino before graduating a season later. Gleison Bremer was a diligent if relatively inconspicuous presence for them until the start of the 2021-22 campaign when his form skyrocketed, helping to guide the club from relegation scrapers to a mid-table finish. This earned the player the Serie A Defender of the Year gong and he walks away with 110 appearances in all competitions as the Brazilian heads across the city to the Bianconeri.
Other Juventus transfers
The centre-back becomes the third big name through the door on a full-time basis at Allianz Stadium this summer – and the first to see the Bianconeri also make pockets with free signings Pogba and Di Maria. The Brazilian’s arrival may simply be the most important thing for the Bianconeri given the reshuffling of their defensive ranks, though Matthijs de Ligt followed Stolwart captain Chiellini out the door, with the latter trading Turin for California with Los Angeles FC.
Dybala’s entry to the Giallorossi earlier this week was also a blow to Juventus in that window, with the club likely to remain on the market for further options as the new season approaches.
