The French footballer’s mother, Fayza Lamary, has called reports that the PSG star has agreed to a two-year contract extension completely false.

What did Fayza Lamary say?

As it stands, Kylian is set to become a free agent when his current deal at Parc des Princes expires on June 30, and the player has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain has stepped up talks on the renewal, but no agreement has yet been reached, which his mother has now come out to publicly confirm.

There is information that Paris Saint-Germain and the French player have reached an agreement in principle on a two-year extension, which will keep the striker at the club until 2024. However, Kylian Mbappe’s mother issued a quick response through a Spanish newspaper, insisting that her son did not commit his future to the Ligue 1 champions. Fayza Lamary says it’s completely false that Mbappe has been updated. Fayza then clarified her comments by saying that her son was more likely to be away.

Uncertainty about the future of Kylian Mbappe

Kylian is seemingly waiting until the end of the season to make a final decision on his next move, with Paris Saint-Germain set to end their campaign with games against Metz, Montpellier and Troyes. Kylian Mbappe pushed for a move to Madrid last summer, but after a failed transfer he has refocused on his duties at the Parc des Princes to put up his best individual numbers yet, scoring 35 goals in 43 games in 2021-22 to date.

Kylian remains the number one target in Madrid, but he admitted it’s still possible he could sign new terms with Paris Saint-Germain after a 5-1 win against Lorient in April, and Pochettino dropped an even bigger hint last week. Asked how likely it is that he and Kylian will still be in Paris Saint-Germain next season, the manager said at a press conference that 100 percent in both cases.
