North American Timothy Weah has insisted he works to help the team and goals will chip in naturally.

The Lille forward says the fans are starting to see the real Weah. He claims he seeks to keep his side top of the table with a win at Metz on Friday. With Jonathan David, fellow North American, and Canada in the sidelined, Weah will probably take the attacking mantle tonight.

However, Weah has played an important role in Christophe Galtier’s squad in their bid to win the Ligue 1 title. The northerners will look to maintain the three-point lead after last week’s surprise win over The Parisian club.

Weah replied, “I hope so,” when asked whether Lille fans were starting to see the real Timothy Weah.

“I had a bad last season individually with injuries. I’ve forgotten that and I take this season as a reward for my work. I’m starting to play a lot of matches, to score some goals. For me, the most important thing is to keep going, improve, gain confidence, and work for the team. The goals will come naturally after that.”

Although Lille coach Christophe Galtier faces a challenge considering the available talents upfront, Weah will probably start. .He charged that he is happy and ready to give his all

“I’m happy to be part of this great team and I’m going to give my all,” Weah said.

Also, he stressed that the remaining seven matches are going to be decisive. He urged his teammates to focus on one game at a time ahead of the Metz clash.

“We have to take them as they come, match by match, without stressing. We’re focussing on the trip to Metz, which won’t be easy, without thinking about what comes afterward, without thinking about the others. We have to stay humble and keep focused on work. That’s all that counts,” Weah said.
