The Gunners named young Ethan Nwaneri on the bench for Sunday’s premier league clash with the Bees.
How was everything?
Midfielder Ethan Nwaneri, 15, will become the youngest player ever to play for the Gunners if he comes, as well as the youngest ever to play in the PL.
What did Neil Baker say about Ethan Nwaneri?
Ethan is currently on schoolboy terms with the Gunners but has made rapid progress with the club in recent months. Ethan Nwaneri started the season with the u18s and impressed throughout pre-season by starring in some friendlies. One of them was against Slough Town, and the Rebel boss chose him as a potential star of the future.
Neil Baker said after the game that their number 10 got great legs, he’s just a real teenager. According to Neil Baker, Ethan Nwaneri is a real high hope for them at Arsenal. Nwaneri has absolutely incredible abilities.
A little about Ethan Nwaneri
Ethan, who has represented England at U16 level, has made his way to the U21s in recent weeks and his performances have seen him called up to first team training by Arteta.
Ethan is an attacking midfielder who is known for his flair and ability to run with the ball at his feet. Ethan Nwaneri loves to operate as No. 10 but can play in all offensive positions.
Obviously this is a big moment for Ethan, but the fact that Mikel Arteta had to name a player on the bench for PL highlights how small the Gunners’ squad is still. Arsenal have a few injuries at the moment and Odegaard’s last-minute elimination didn’t help much, but even so, Mikel shouldn’t be asking a kid to plug the gap.
This shows that there is still a lot of work to be done before this Gunnery line-up can come close to competing with the best that England has to offer.
