Fabio Vieira could be ready to move to the PL as Arsenal step up their chase for the midfielder.

A little about the topic

The Gunners are working on the transfer of the Portuguese footballer, while Arteta is eyeing the transfer of the player. Fabio Vieira has been linked with the switch to the PL before, having impressed over the past few seasons, helping outfit the Primeira Liga to two league championships plus the success of the Taca de Portugal. However, the Porto midfielder is now on the verge of a move to the Gunners and the player was in London for a medical on Friday, with an announcement expected over the weekend or next week.

It’s not often that a transmission appears out of nowhere and takes almost everyone by surprise, but the Gunners’ move for the Portuguese player did exactly that. Fabio Vieira was not one of the names associated with the Gunner this summer with Arsenal, who were known to be destined for Youri Tielemans Leicester City. However, Fabio could now be the first significant arrival of the transfer window at Emirates Stadium with Arsenal working to finalize a deal for Vieira.

Fabio Vieira is hardly a household name, but his numbers with Porto last season show, he will add flair and creativity to the Gunners’ focus should the deal go through. The Arsenal head coach is desperate to strengthen his squad this summer and while Fabio may not be the name everyone has been waiting to see come, his potential arrival is set to be the catalyst for a busy couple of months in north London.

The Gunners’ interest in Fabio Vieira

The Gunners’ interest in him seems to have come out of nowhere, but Arsenal are in deep negotiations over a reported £30m deal to bring the midfielder to London. Fabio Vieira is one of the most promising young talents getting ready to burst onto the biggest stages after an excellent inside form.

A product of Porto’s academy, Fabio made the jump to the senior side in 2019-20 before cementing his place over the next two years as a key performer for the club in their pursuit of domestic success. A move to a bigger league among European heavyweights is a natural progression – but with six goals in 27 first-class games last term, it will be interesting to see if Fabio is able to close the gap successfully and deliver for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta looks to keep his side around the middle of the park.
