West Ham, on the other hand, were struggling hard in order to avoid relegation to the competition. But, even though they were outstanding in defense, they could not handle Citizens’ attacks and finally conceded two goals in the match.
The First Half
Manchester City started the first half of the match with an active playstyle. From the very first minutes, the Citizens were controlling the ball mostly and had several impressive attempts as well.
After City’d 29–minute domination, Citizens earned one more corner. After the corner kick by Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri scored a beautiful opener by planting a long-rage header down the right corner of the net.
Nothing has changed since the only goal of the first half. Machester city kept their pace and domination, and it ended with City winning 1:0 against the Hammers.
The Second Half
The break could not make any critical changes, and the second half of the game started with Manchester City’s evident domination again. They were attacking the West Ham’s net all the time.
After an intensive pressing, Kevin De Bruine scored a lovely ball into the bottom right corner of Fabianski’s goal post. Accordingly, Manchester City stepped forward, winning 2:0.
There were some more attempts during the remaining time, mostly by City again. But none of the teams could change the scoring anymore.
Noteworthy that the Hammers were doing their best in defense. And the goalkeeper, Fabianski was in good shape as well. But it was not enough to handle the heated Citizens. You may already know that they are banned due to some financial issues and will miss two seasons in Champion League. So they will, of course, spend all their energy in the current season to prove their importance and power.
