The much-awaited World Test Championship final starts today, and former Indian batsman and legend Sachin Tendulkar recently posted a video on his website, 100MB Sports and said that the pitch at the Oval is spin-friendly, which will make India more confident when they go out to play the final against Australia today, but the Aussie spinners can also be a double threat if they get the drift and turn. India has two amazing spinners to choose from, R. Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Tendulkar said, “The Indian team will be happy that they are playing at the Oval , the disposition of the pitch here favours the spinners as the match progresses.
The Oval is going to be a good venue for India
According to Sachin, it doesn’t always have to be a turning track because sometimes spinners rely heavily on bounce and get a bit of zip depending on the weather conditions. He said, “If the spinners are able to get that flow, the role of pitch will not come into play. They will enter the field with a lot of confidence and positive energy because their last encounter against England here in 2021 resulted in a good win. When you have good memories, they stay with you, and the Indian team must not have forgotten it”.
Australians are competitive-Tendulkar
Similarly, England thrashed Australia by 135 runs in the 2019 Ashes test here, and Sachin said they might be in a bit of pain,but the Australians are a very competitive team. Bruises take time to heal, but Australia is a graceful team because they have balanced themselves. They have some players who have been on the team for a long time, and there are also some young faces, so it makes a good mix of youth and experience. The Aussies have always been very competitive, and whether they have a full team or not, once they enter the field, they are going to be very ruthless.
These two will play important roles
Tendulkar believes that Cheteshwar Pujara and Marnus Labuschagne’s long stints in county cricket will help their team in this big match. “Both the batsmen have done exceptionally well in county cricket recently. On the other hand, Smith may not be like the other two, but he is also an important key for the team because his match practices can be very useful as the conditions are different,” he concluded. The Indian side has sensational batters as well, youngster Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli are in great form and will play a vital role in the final.
