A little about the topic

Atalanta has already secured a replacement for Cristian Romero. Both Juve and Atalanta announced Friday that the Demiral center-back will be on loan in Bergamo next season. The Piero Gasperini team has the option to buy it right at the end of the campaign. The call option will be around € 30 million, while Juventus will receive a percentage of any future sale. 23-year-old Cristian Romero arrived in Serie A in 2018 when he joined Genoa from Argentine Belgrano. Juve signed him the following year but loaned him to Genoa the following season and then to Atalanta.

He made 42 appearances in all competitions for Atalanta as they finished third in Serie A and reached the Coppa Italia final, which they lost to Juve. Cristian Romero went on to play three appearances as Argentina won the America’s Cup by beating Brazil in the final. Merih Demiral, meanwhile, arrived in Italy in January 2019 when he joined Sassuolo and was then sold to Juventus the following summer. Injuries have shortened his playing time as he scored just 32 times for Juventus over two seasons.
