Rafael Leao responds to a fan

The Portuguese footballer responded to a fan who threatened to have his leg amputated if the player did not sign a new contract at the San Siro this summer. The player, whose current contract expires in 2024, spent the last three years of his career on the Rossoneri books and played a vital role in their run to Scudetto glory last season.

There is information that the Italian champions are working to tie the Portuguese to the new conditions, but the player was linked with a summer transfer amid ties to top clubs like the Blues – a source of great distress for one of Milan’s supporters.

This fan has Leao’s shin tattoo, which they showed off in a video posted to their Twitter account on July 14. The account created under the name Gabriele also included a rather disturbing caption. The caption said that if Rafael Leao did not renew, he would cut off his leg.

The post received over 700 likes and was even noticed by Rafael who responded directly to try and dissuade the supporter from carrying out his threat. Rafael Leao just wrote back with a series of crying faces and praying hand emojis – gaining over 2,000 likes for himself in the process.

What did Rafael Leao say?

The Portugal international recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 34 Serie A trips for the Rossoneri in 2021-22 to help them secure their first title in 11 years. Rafael Leao addressed speculation regarding his future mid-campaign, saying he is happy with AC Milan and wants to make history here. According to Leao, he really likes his life at this club. Rafael also confirmed that his lawyers were in direct talks with Rossoneri officials over a contract extension, and recent reports suggest he has been offered a new five-year deal.
