Ruben Neves was inclined to move to a bigger club after five years at Molineux.

What did Ruben Neves say?

Portuguese footballer Neves has hinted that he may have played his last game for Wolves ahead of a potential summer transfer. Ruben has carved a reputation among the top playmakers in English football since joining Wolves from Porto in 2017, recording 24 goals and 12 assists in 212 appearances. The 2021-22 campaign was another strong one for the Portuguese as he helped Bruno Lage’s finish 10th in the PL, but he is now being swayed to move to a bigger club.

The Red Devils and Gunners are among those reportedly interested in luring the Portuguese out of the Wolves, where the player is currently under contract until 2024. Ruben Neves seemed to point to a summer entry on the cards after the Wolves’ 3-1 loss to the Reds on the final day of the season.

The Portuguese player told reporters that the only thing he can tell them at the moment is that everyone knows what football is about, what their life is about. According to Ruben Neves, their careers are really short and they need to take advantage of the opportunities they have. Neves says they all have dreams and they should live those dreams in a small space of time. They’ll see what happens, Ruben can’t say too much about that.

Ruben’s next stop

Barcelona have also been touted as a potential next destination for Ruben, but Bruno recently claimed the midfielder is now worth £100m, which is likely to be too much for the Spanish giants given their financial troubles. It’s unclear whether the Red Devils or the Gunners would be willing to fork out such a hefty purse, but Ruben seems to have said his last goodbyes to Wolves.

Ruben Neves added that this club means a lot. According to Ruben, it means everything to him and his family. His children grew up in Wolverhampton. Ruben has three children, all of whom were born while he was here. It means a lot to Neves and people mean a lot to him. Ruben says they really helped him settle in here.
