Spain national team centre-half Thiago Alcantara has urged the Reds to improve things in the second half of the season as they look to salvage what has been a difficult campaign.
How was everything?
After finishing second in the PL last season, Liverpool will spend Christmas all the way down in sixth place – 15 points behind the league leaders Gunners. Alcantara and his teammates have struggled for domestic consistency but they are still in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
What did Thiago Alcantara say?
Speaking after his side’s win over the Rossoneri in the Dubai Super Cup, the Spain international said he was thinking about everything. Thiago Alcantara says that as a footballer, as a Reds player now and as a fan, he thinks they should improve everything. So Thiago says they have to get every possible trophy, they have to start chasing first place again – they know it’s hard – but they have other competitions, so they try to chase everything.
A little about the topic
While the Premier League looks out of reach, Liverpool can buy out in the Champions League. The Reds lost the final last year to Real Madrid and now have to play the Spaniards again – this time they meet in the round of 16 which starts in February. Liverpool are back in Carabao Cup action on 22 December when they travel to play rivals Man City in the round of 16.
