The Blues have found a mask that Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang feels comfortable wearing, the Chelsea head coach has revealed, and the striker is ready to join training.

What did Tuchel say about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?

Chelsea bolstered their attacking ranks on transfer day when they brought the Gabon international’s former Gunners frontman back to England from Barcelona in a £10m deal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, however, is nursing a jaw injury from a burglary attack and is green light to debut in PL for new employers.

The Chelsea manager said of efforts to find the 33-year-old a face covering that would allow him to take the field that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would train on Sunday, but he could not yet tell them if it was full contact or individually. According to Thomas Tuchel, they will need to look. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has a mask and the doctors tell him that the mask is good and he feels comfortable with it.

So Aubameyang would be fine, but they need to test him, and they need to test him without contact, half contact and then full contact. They need to see how he feels about it. The Chelsea head coach says it’s too early to predict, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be in training.

A little about the topic

Pierre-Emerick previously scored 92 goals for the Gunners in 163 games, with 68 of those efforts coming from PL – allowing him to land a share of the Golden Boot in 2018-19.

The Blues are looking for inspiration in the final third after netting just eight goals across six fixtures this season, and the Gabonese international is gearing up to join the likes of Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling in the department.

What will happen after that for Pierre-Emerick?

Being a proven Premier League performer, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangl will be looking to hit the ground running to Stamford Bridge – with the chance that a nod for Chelsea can be made on Saturday’s derby date with west London neighbors Cottagers.
