Thomas Tuchel was less than impressed with his side’s efforts, as they allowed the rest of the top four chasing pack to close behind them.

A little about the topic

The Chelsea manager questioned the Blues’ concentration and determination at the back of a 1-0 defeat with Everton imminent relegation, with Tuchel admitting that if they try to get away with it they will lose games. Chelsea headed to Goodison Park on the back of a bad night’s sleep, courtesy of passionate Toffee supporters, and couldn’t wake up from hibernation as they suffered a shock defeat to a side fighting for their lives in the PL. Thomas admits that, having taken just one win from their last four games, the Blues need to raise their collective standards if they are to avoid a top four-chase package below them closing out.

What did Thomas Tuchel say?

Thomas Tuchel spoke about the competition that Chelsea dominated possession but failed to force a breakthrough, that they had to be error-free, disciplined in their positions and not make mistakes. According to Thomas Tuchel, when they have so much possession, they didn’t play their best game, but they were in control, and then they gave away a goal and it kills the game for them, because that’s all the opposition wants. This is a huge pattern in their season.

The German football manager says they have now had four matches in the past two weeks and one clean sheet to change – if they are trying to get off with good performances, they are a team that should be at the very top on every match basis. If they try to get away with it, they will lose games. Thomas Tuchel also said that they are struggling with concentration and levels of determination and they see it in the last four matches.
