Lucknow Super Giants head coach Justin Langer has dismissed speculation linking him to the role of India’s next men’s team head coach. After reports surfaced suggesting Langer could be a contender following Rahul Dravid’s impending departure, the former Australian coach remained tight-lipped on the matter.

In a recent interview after LSG’s final game of the season against MI, Langer acknowledged the significance of leading the Indian cricket team, describing it as “almost the biggest job in cricket.” Despite recognizing the challenge and opportunity to win ICC titles, Langer hinted that the timing may not be right for him to take on such a high-pressure role.

Having previously coached Australia amidst a tumultuous period post the ball-tampering scandal, Langer reflected on the demands and intensity of coaching a team like India. He emphasized the exhausting nature of the job and the immense pressure to deliver results, hinting that it may not align with his current plans.

While not explicitly ruling himself out, Langer hinted that the next coach should be prepared for the demanding project that comes with coaching the Indian team. With the BCCI inviting fresh applications for the head coach position, the search for Dravid’s successor continues as Langer distances himself from the speculation.
