Richarlison, who was previously associated with the Gunners, is gearing up to make a big cash move to north London.

A little about the topic

The Spurs are shutting down on the signing of the Brazilian from Everton, with the striker due to undergo a medical. Richarlison appeared at one stage as if he would be heading north London as a new addition to the Gunners, but Arsenal turned their attention to alternative Samba stars such as Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus. This left the door open for Tottenham to swing, with another proven PL performer added to Conte’s ranks on the back of deals for Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster.

It is understood that Tottenham will be splashing out the £50million initial fee to secure a deal for the Brazilian over the line. The agreement reached with the PL rivals includes the possibility of paying an additional £10m.

How many years will the contract be signed?

Reports suggest the Brazil international will commit to a five-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur before summer 2027. Personal terms have been agreed, with medical tests a final box to be delivered before the relevant paperwork can be completed.

Why Tottenham were interested in Richarlison

The Spurs already boast a lot of firepower in their ranks, with Harry Kane quite a mascot presence in the final third of the field. Tottenham also have Son Heung-min in their books, with the South Korean player claiming a share of the PL Golden Boot last season. Swedish player Kulusevski impressed on the back of his loan transfer from the Bianconeri in January, but questions have been raised about how long Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura will last.

Antonio Conte is looking to avoid running out of options in an important area of the field, with Brazil international Richarlison being selected as another ready starter. Richarlison, having first come to English football at Watford in 2017, has achieved double figures when it comes to goals in each of his last four seasons. The Brazilian has registered 53 in total for Everton through 152 appearances and has shown he can be a threat down the middle, across the width, on the floor and in the air.
