A bid for Luis Diaz worth 45m euros

Antonio Conte’s plea for Tottenham Hotspur to make some signings seems to have been listened to by the club’s board, as Spurs have made an official bid to sign Porto winger Luis Diaz. The Colombia international has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool during this transfer window, but it now seems as though Tottenham are leading the race for his signature. According to the Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda, and confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have made a bid for Luis Diaz worth 45 million euros (37.6 million pounds) plus add-ons. Now, as Sepulveda notes, Porto have 48 hours to decide if they are to accept or reject Tottenham’s offer. This season, Luis Diaz has taken his game to another level after putting in some impressive performances for Colombia at last year’s Copa America, where he was the joint top scorer with Lionel Messi.

The Spurs are hoping also to sign the Wolves right-winger Adama Traore

Across all competitions, he has scored 16 goals and provided six assists in 28 games in all competitions, with 14 of those goals and five of those assists coming in 18 league matches. It is believed that Spurs managing director of football Fabio Paratici is the person leading the charge when it comes to the arrival of the left-winger. Before the transfer window comes to a close next Monday night, Tottenham are hoping to complete the signings of Luis Diaz, Wolverhampton Wanderers right-winger Adama Traore, who Antonio Conte wants to convert into a right wing-back, and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. There is also hope that a pre-contract agreement can be reached with AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who is into the last six months of his contract at the Stadio San Siro.

In terms of outgoing, three midfielders in the Spurs squad could leave north London before the end of the window, with Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso all in the shop window.
