According to rumors, Tottenham is vying with Arsenal for the contract of Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, who recently spoke out about his ‘uncertain’ future at the Etihad.

The Brazilian played 90 minutes on the final day of the season as City came back from 2-0 down to beat Liverpool 3-2 on Sunday to clinch the Premier League title.

Despite scoring 13 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions this season, Jesus has been a second-string player for the majority of the season and has expressed his desire to depart for more regular first-team playing elsewhere.

Arsenal was supposed to be the most probable destination, with Gunners coach Mikel Arteta eager to reunite with the 25-year-old after working with him as an assistant at City.

However, according to the Telegraph, Spurs have entered the battle to recruit him after beating them to fourth place and Champions League qualification.

They quoted Jesus’ agent Marcelo Pettinati as claiming that his client is aware of Spurs’ interest, as well as the interest of five other teams.

Antonio Conte is apparently looking to add to his team ahead of next season’s appearance in Europe’s premier tournament, with a center-back and midfielder on his wish list.

He may play as a central striker with Harry Kane, as well as a wide attacker as a backup to the England captain.

According to reports, Jesus, who is valued at £42 million and whose contract at the Etihad expires next year, said that he wants to stay in the Premier League whenever he departs City.

‘My future is still undetermined,’ he stated. I have a contract with City and have previously conveyed my wish to City officials as well as my agency. What I desire is crystal clear in my mind.

‘I want to celebrate a lot with City today (Sunday).’ It’s clear that I’m content here. Helena (his daughter) will be born tomorrow (Monday) if all goes well for me, my wife, and our family.

‘I need to take advantage of this opportunity.’ Then consider the squad and smile at them once again. And I make decisions regarding my future while on vacation.’
