UEFA believe they can win their legal case against the clubs involved in the ongoing fallout from the European Super League project.

Ceferin is not giving up

Aleksander Ceferin’s organization will not bow to the orders of the Madrid court which stipulated last Friday that all sanctions against the clubs involved should be rolled back. The court also ruled that UEFA should take back all other measures taken against the Italian and English clubs involved. The case is now set to be heard by the European Union’s Justice Court in Luxembourg, who will give their judgement on UEFA’s control of football in Europe.

Tebas with the same approach

LaLiga president Javier Tebas declared his surprise at the chain of events and posted an article on Twitter which summarised the situation. The judge confirmed that none of the 12 clubs have given up on the Super League – it read this in spite of the founding clubs giving public statements to the contrary. The Super League project continues with the involvement of all the founding clubs and the statements made are insufficient.

Super League teams won the case

Keep in mind that Real Madrid, Barca and Juventus won the case in the court. Only Real Madrid, Juve and Barca have not withdrawn. At the same time, the court suggested that none of the teams in Super League had withdrawn because of the signatures. Keep in mind un-signing the contract will lead to big financial fines from the Super League supporting banks. The banking systems behind the Super League are very supportive. Real Madrid, Barca and Juve officials know that competition will grow with the Super League. Although Real Madrid and other teams won a case against Uefa, the president of the organization is not going to give up with the sanctions. Experts say that Ceferin wants to show how hard it will be for the clubs to go against the will of Uefa.
