Umran Malik’s superb bowling ensure SRH beat PBKS by 7 wickets, 4th Consecutive win of the IPL 2022

The 28th match of IPL 2022 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings at the DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Mumbai.

In this match, Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson (Punjab Kings) won the toss and decided to bowl first and the bowlers once again bowled brilliantly.

Batting first in this match, Punjab could score only 151 runs in 20 overs. There was a target of 152 runs in front of Hyderabad, which the team easily achieved. This was Hyderabad’s fourth consecutive win in this season.

Then did Hyderabad run chase

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a target of 152 runs, which SRH achieved by losing three wickets in 18.5 overs.

Rahul Tripathi (34 off 22 balls, four fours, one six) and Abhishek Sharma (31 off 25 balls, three fours, one six) put on a 48-run stand for the second wicket.

While Nicholas Pooran (35 not out off 30 balls) put on a 48-run stand for the second wicket. one four, one six) and Aiden Markram (41 not out off 27 balls, four fours, one six) added 75 runs for the fourth wicket to take the team to the target. With this win, Hyderabad’s team has reached the fourth position in the points table.

Great bowling from SRH

Malik did not give any run in the last over of Punjab’s innings. Meanwhile, four wickets including one run out fell. Malik took four for 28 while Bhuvneshwar took three wickets for 22 runs.

Left-arm spinner J Suchit (1 for 28) also bowled tight. Malik is the fourth bowler after Irfan Pathan (2008), Lasith Malinga (2009) and Jaydev Unadkat (2017) to maiden the last over of the innings in the IPL.

This is the fourth victory of Sunrisers in 6 matches, while Punjab has to face the third defeat in the same number of matches.

Livingstone hits half century

In this match, Punjab was staggered in the beginning. Shikhar Dhawan (8 runs), leading the team due to the injury of Mayank Agarwal, did not look comfortable at any time and soon returned to the pavilion after practicing the catch.

Punjab’s team, despite Liam Livingstone’s 60 off 33 balls, scored only 19 runs in the last four overs, meanwhile, were all out for 151 runs in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets.

Livingstone hit five fours and four sixes in his innings. He shared a 71-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Shah Rukh Khan (26 off 28 balls).
