Vinicius Junior has been disappointed in the match against City
Vinicius Junior revealed his disappointment when he left out from the Real Madrid team to play with Manchester City. Zinedine Zidane started with Eden Hazard, and Rodrygo Goes at the Etihad stadium and did not get Vinicius off the bench during the 2-1 defeat as the Spanish side were eliminated from the Champions League. “I wanted to go further and help, but I play for the world’s biggest club with many talented players,” Vinicius told journalists. “The coach has many options going into the match, and it’s part of the game. It takes time, but we can and must understand each choice.”
The forward, still only 20, has benefited from having a few experienced teammates at Real Madrid. “I have a lot of support,” added Vinicius. “We understand that they are worried about us, the younger players because we are the present and the future.”
“At my age, only Iker Casillas and Raúl have played more games than me for Real Madrid, and they are legends here. They won lots of titles, and I hope I can do the same. Sergio Ramos and Casemiro are my best role models. . Their work ethic pushes me further.” Despite such a big step at such a young age, Vinicius has faced criticism throughout his career. “Some don’t even like Neymar,” he pointed out. “I don’t like to think about the bad moments in my career. Of course, I hope that one day I can make all Brazilians like me. I hope to play for Brazil’s national team again. Many of my idols are there. Neymar is my inspiration. I’ve worked on a challenge and hope to make our people happy. I want to play at the next World Cup.”
