Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has spoken about the poor form of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and former Team India captain Virat Kohli. Pietersen feels that Virat will definitely return to form and it is only a matter of time. Along with this, he agreed that Virat should take a break of at least six months from cricket and return to the field refreshed. Apart from Pietersen, former head coach of Team India Ravi Shastri has also said something similar.
Ravi Shastri said on Star Sports, ‘Virat Kohli needs a break because he has six-years of cricket left in him and you don’t want to lose a player like this in cricket. He is not the only player, there are one or two players in the world who are going through this phase. To this Pietersen said, “Hundred percent Ravi Shastri is right. This player has to deal with a lot of things, from marriage to kids, media commentary on his personal life, he is the biggest star right now.
Pietersen further said, ‘Virat Kohli should take a break for six months. Must stop social media and return to the field refreshed again. When the stadiums fill up again, you guarantee them to stay in the team for the next 12, 24 or 36 months. Virat has been battling with poor form, he was the victim of a golden duck in the match played against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday.
Rohit Sharma, too, is struggling with his form in this IPL. Fans have high expectations from such classy players who have been winning matches for their teams for last decade. Surely, Virat Kohli would like to unleash his real self before the beginning of the T20 World cup. Two most reliable batsmen of Indian cricket are struggling to score runs and every Indian fans wants them perform to their stature.
