Timothy Weah on debut season with Lille

United States men’s team striker Tim Weah admitted that his debut season with Lille, which was scrapped by injury, hurt him before he returned this season.  Tim limited himself to just three appearances during his first season at Lille, with hamstring injuries keeping him off the field during what was supposed to be a breakthrough campaign after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. However, this season, the healthy Tim has been a regular at Lille en route to the club’s stunning Ligue 1 title, which Tim called the cherry on top of his comeback story.

Timothy is super happy

In his fight for injury, Tim admitted that mentally, it hurt him. Timothy had goals and knew what he wanted to achieve when he first signed there, so it didn’t do him any good. Timothy was just in a state where he just really didn’t want to do anything, but with the help of his family, coaching staff with USMNT and his club team, he returned home, got on his feet and just started working on what he needed to get better.

Tim Weah came into the season really positive and just knowing that he wants to take his game to the next level and just improve as a player and feels like he has a couple of opportunities to play this season and that was great. Tim gets his feedback, so I’m very happy about it and winning the league was just the cherry on top. According to Weah, it’s just time to go into next season and obviously this summer with the national team and just continue this positive step forward. Weah does great things, so he’s just super happy, happy to go again and happy to be back with the boys.
