Nikola Milenkovic looks set to join David Moyes’ ranks at London stadium with Fiorentina ready to cash in before his contract expires in 2022.

Today’s situation

West Ham closes in on signing Serbian after being judged out of a deal by Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma. Nikola Milenkovic has just entered the final year of his contract with Fiorentina, who are said to be ready to cash in on the center – after receiving an offer from West Ham. The Hammers were also in talks with Chelsea for a possible transfer of Kurt Zouma, but turned their attention to Nikola Milenkovic due to the fact that he is currently available for a price cut fee.

The Blues are asking £ 25m for Kurt, who has been open to contact West Ham, but they can’t afford to match that estimate or his current pay package at Stamford Bridge. The Hammers also contacted Marseilles about the Duje Caleta-Car, but Nikola Milenkovic now appears to be the most likely person to join the Moyes’ ranks at London Stadium. West Ham hopes to close a £ 14m deal for the Serbian centerback, with a few small details left to deal with Fiorentina before he can make his way to England.

A little about the topic

Nikola Milenkovic became one of the top defenders in Italy during his time in Fiorentina, initially moving to the Artemio Franchi Stadium from Partizan Belgrade in 2017. The 23-year-old has so far made 133 appearances in all competitions for La Viola, scoring 11 goals, and his presence could help West Ham compete for European qualifiers again in 2021-22. David Moyes already has the likes of Issa Diop, Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna to call defenses in the heart, but Nikola Milenkovic has the quality and experience to get right into his starting XI if hammers can push the pass over the lane.
