West Ham is looking into reports that one of its German commentators was assaulted by a Hammers supporter after their 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The commentators’ headsets were pulled off and thrown on the floor at London Stadium on Thursday, according to the German daily Bild.

After West Ham’s Michail Antonio equalized in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final, the incident occurred.

“We will be working to identify the culprit,” West Ham declared.

The journalists, who worked for the German network ARD, were commenting from the back row of the media section, which was surrounded by supporters.

“Anyone detected will have their details handed to the authorities in line with our zero-tolerance stance,” a West Ham official said.

“They will be barred from entering London Stadium and traveling with the club for an undetermined period of time. This type of behavior has no place in society.”
