Andy McBrine added 34 runs before getting retired hurt, while Harry Tector amassed 53 off 68 deliveries. Ireland was cruising in the chase till the time Balbirnie and Tector were at the crease.

However, Romario Shepherd then picked the wicket of Balbirnie in the 37th over, while Odean Smith accounted for Harry Tector’s wicket in the very next over to help West Indies get back into the game. Wickets fell in very short intervals after that and Ireland were bowled out for 245 runs.

For Ireland, the second one-day international will be a must-win game for them. A win on Thursday will help them stay alive in the series. In a big boost for them, Paul Sterling has recovered from Covid-19 and he is likely to play tomorrow.
