Paul Pogba’s expected return to Juventus has left Italian football both excited and curious.

Paul Pogba left Turin six years ago. But this summer a return to his hometown close to the Municipal Stadium is seen to be the most sensible next step in a career that has solely involved Manchester United and Juventus.

The emotional bond between Pogba and Juve is a love tale fit for a Shakespeare play, and it influenced his choice to turn down offers from other clubs in favor of a second term with the Old Lady.

The midfielder is prepared to regain his form at a team where he feels the love from the supporters, as was made clear in his new Amazon Prime documentary.

According to reports, Pogba declined the offer from Paris Saint-Germain because of his stronger ties to Juve supporters. Lionel Messi is more interested in playing in Serie A than Ligue 1 since the jeers he endured in Paris frightened him away from the league.

Before his comeback, Pogba is eager to recapture the carefree attitude of the 20-year-old who previously triumphed in Italy’s top division. Pogba last plied his trade in Turin when he went from kid to man. He aspires to regain his youthful energy and passion to play football without viewing it as solely a job.

In his four years with Juve, Pogba proved he could dominate any opponent in Serie A. In fact, players feared him in the tunnel before games and frequently left the field looking foolish.

The 29-year-old is returning to a lower-quality league this time, which may enable him to succeed with Massimiliano Allegri’s team right away.

The startling contrast, though, is that Pogba’s departure won’t be felt as much in Manchester, whilst Juve yearns for his return after watching their midfield degrade in the six years since his left.
