Inside PSG’s tumultuous summer, which includes Georginio Wijnaldum being one of nine players PSG wants to let go of this season

Almost every team on the earth would consider a league championship by a margin of 15 points to be an absolute triumph.

But at PSG, things are different.
Last season, the team experienced yet another unsuccessful Champions League run. As a result, their hunt for the coveted European Cup continues.

Because of this, manager Mauricio Pochettino finally lost his job, and Leonardo, the sports director, was also fired.

How about the playing group?

Kylian Mbappe has been retained by the club, but at what cost? Neymar and Lionel Messi’s futures at the club are also unknown, but for how long?

To give new manager Christophe Galtier the chance to reorganize his roster, the club is now ready to sell as many as nine players this summer.

The Ligue 1 champions have already experienced a dramatic summer, and it appears like there will be plenty more drama.

At PSG, revamping the team is now a top focus.

This is so evident  that for their preseason trip to Japan, the French club reportedly chose to leave nine “undesirable” players at home, including Georginio Wijnaldum.

The former Liverpool midfielder, who moved to Paris last year on a free transfer, seemed to be the steadying influence the team needed in the center of the field.

His first season, however, was a complete failure since he struggled to establish himself right away and was thus kept out of the squad for most of their crucial contests. He did not play a single minute in either leg against Real Madrid.
He is currently viewed as being unnecessary and may be let go in the upcoming weeks.

Idrissa Gueye, Layvin Kurzawa, Junior Dina Ebimbe, Rafinha, and Sergio Rico are among the major names that are not expected to win, and PSG is also prepared to say goodbye to Mauro Icardi, Julian Draxler, and Ander Herrera.

They are not currently included in Galtier’s plans, and it doesn’t appear that will change anytime soon. Whether PSG can get all of these players out the door is another story.
