Will Manchester United house both Odion Ighalo and Anthony Martial?
Defensive Issues in Manchester United
The issues for Manchester Utd started in defense. Both Maguire and Lindelof put in fairly adequate performances. Apparently, Shaw had been given a man-marking role on Adama Traore. He was ordered to step in on the winger as soon as he owned the ball. He did an excellent job by harrying Traore until the moment he got an injury.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, on the right, also was not detailed with specific marking duties, and he could not do his best in attack either. The young defender has already shown his defending capability. However, he cannot attack or cross with enough quality and consistency.
These are some convenient excuses for Martial. Earlier in this season, He has shown that he is Manchester’s most natural finisher inside the box. Still, when Mata and James are playing as inverted wingers, he moves up the middle.
Mostly, Martial had an opportunity to lead the line this season. It should be his chance to prove that he can make a difference when others around him fail to do the same.
Unfortunately, Martial failed to use the given chance against Wolves, and he even made things worse. Martial was one of United’s worst tacticians against Wolves during their 0-0 PL draw on Saturday evening.
