Premier League fixtures are on delay in deciding when each club will get a winter break. The delays will still be on until after the Champions League and Europa League draw on 16th December.

Half of the 10 games scheduled for the 8th of February will be put back by a week. This process will be carried out to give all 20 sides a weekend off.

Confirmation on the split and which games will be aired was due by 13 December.

However, the Premier Leg has pushed the deadline back to no later than 20th December. This decision has been made to take into account when and where clubs are playing in Europe.

Under the new system, match week 26 will be split in two. 10 sides will play over the weekend of 7-10 February. The other 10 will play from 14-17 of the same month.

Premier League plans

Wolves and Manchester United have reached the last 32 of the Europa League. Arsenal is almost certain to join the two clubs.

This means they will play the first leg of their matches on the 20th of February. Manchester United and Arsenal currently top their groups. By this, the two clubs will play first.

Two Champions League last-16 first-leg ties will be on the 18th od February with a further two the night after. Not more than one English team is likely to paly on each match night.

Manchester City and Tottenham have reached that stage already. Liverpool, on the other hand, needs at least a point against RB Salzburg in their final group match next week to get through.

Chelsea will also qualify if they beat Lille. Although, a draw may also be good enough.

The Europa league awaits both sides if they finish third in their group.

It is anticipated that the Premier Leg will take into account the wishes of the competing clubs before deciding when each game is played.

Manchester United is due to visit Chelsea in the most eye-catching fixture.

League leaders, Liverpool will play against Norwich with Leicester playing Wolves at Molineux.
