Yash Dayal loses 7-8 KG after going for 5 sixes

In the 13th match of the Indian Premier League 2023. GT’s left-arm seamer Yash Dayal went for 5 consecutive sixes in an over against KKR’s Rinku Singh who hammered a match-winning 48 off 21 balls.

While bowling the last over of the match, when KKR needed 29 off 6 balls. The left-handed batter Rinku Singh won the match with this sublime hitting in the last over of the match.

The UP-born Yash Dayal has been out of GT’s playing XI since this match. When The Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya was asked the reason for this, Pandya made a surprising disclosure. In a conversation with Star Sports Channel, The 29-year-old all-rounder said, can’t say anything about Yash Dayal’s return to the side. Dayal is ill at present.

The left-arm pacer weight has reduced by 7-8 kilos after that hell of an over. Yash was in the grip of viral fever. The left-arm pacer’s condition is not such that he can make it to the playing XI. Pandya also added that he thinks there is still a long time for Dayal to return.

Hardik Pandya statement on Yash Dayal

Before Pandya’s statement, it was believed that the 25-year-old bowler was kept out of GT’s playing-11 due to his inability to handle the pressure situation. His performance this season was also not good.

Yash Dayal played in all three matches of IPL 2023. But he could not get a single wicket. But when GT’s bowler Yash Dayal was hammered for 29 runs in the last over of the match against Knight Riders that would probably be the worst moment of his career.

This 25-year-old young bowler proved to be an important bowler for the defending Champions Gujarat last season in the IPL. He claimed 11 wickets in 9 matches in IPL 2022. Although Dayal’s economy rate was high in the last season it was not on the mark in comparison to other GT bowlers. He conceded over 9 runs per over in the last season.

Mohit Sharma replaced him

He was replaced by the 2014 orange cap winner in the league Mohit Sharma who made a great comeback against PBKS as he bowled a terrific spell and claimed two wickets to help his side to win the match by six wickets.

The 35-year-old fast bowler has since been a regular in the XI and has picked up six wickets in four matches for Gujarat Titans so far while bowling at a brilliant economy of 6.15. Amid Sharma’s impressive run, Yash Dayal is unlikely to return to the playing XI anytime soon.
