In the 56th match of the IPL, The Pink Army’s left-handed destructive star young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal created a stir against KKR last night by hitting the fastest fifty in IPL history in just 13 balls, breaking KL Rahul’s record of 14 balls.
The swashbuckling batter is currently dominating the IPL 2023 with his sublime batting. He has scored 575 runs in 12 innings with an average of 52.27.
21-year-old, Jaiswal scored the match-winning 98 off 47 balls that included 12 fours and 5 huge sixes in his blistering knock. His terrific innings guided his team RR to win the 6th match of the season comfortably against Knight Riders. Although he missed his century by just 2 runs. RR won the match by scoring 151 runs, losing only 1 wicket in just 13.1 overs and moving 3rd in the points table leaving MI in 4th place.
With this quick batting, Yashasvi also won the Orange Cap, leaving behind RCB skipper, Faf Du Plessis. But now he is on 2nd spot with 575 runs, Du Plessis leads with just 1 run in Ornage cap Leaderboard. He has become the batter to score more than 500 runs this season. Jaiswal has been showing strong performances throughout this season.
His jaw-dropping inning was highly praised by Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Virender Sehwag, and many cricket stars. Jaiswal has already impressed everyone while smashing a hundred in the ongoing league where he scored 124 runs, becoming the only player to score the highest individual score for RR.
In the match against KKR, RR skipper Sanju Samson decided to bowl first after winning the toss. In bowling, spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahal showed a master class of his leg spin for RR and in his four-over spell, he took 4 wickets for just 25 runs. Not only this, he also became the highest wicket-taker in IPL history overtaking CSK’s DJ Bravo during this match.
Nitish Rana-led KKR was able to score only 149 runs in 20 overs thanks to the courtesy of Venkatesh Iyer. The left-handed batter played a strong inning of 57 off 42 balls and took his team to post a respectable total on the board.
