Zinedine Zidane met with the press on Friday morning. He was happy and answered many questions.

First few words

Zidane said that the team is back fully training and ready to play all possible games. Keep in mind that Real Madrid will play their first game on the weekend against Eibar. Zidane said that team players returned from their international break. At the same time, Zidane admitted that players who were in Madrid worked really hard. Zidane noted that he is very happy with the current squad. He noted that 15 games are left in La Liga and Champions League.

Sergio Ramos injury

Zinedine Zidane said that Ramos’ injury was no one’s fault. Journalists asked him about the national team’s medical team’s fault but Zidane noted that football is a very different sport. French coach said that injuries happen every time and everyone has to accept it. That’s who football works because injuries are part of the game. Zidane noted that there are many players in Madrid that can play in Ramos’ position and they will try their best to replace the captain fully. Keep in mind that Ramos will miss many games in April. Real Madrid will face Eibar, Liverpool (twice) and Barcelona in the next 2 weeks. The schedule is very tight for Los Blancos but Zidane is very optimistic. He said that Real Madrid players are fully concentrated on Eibar’s clash before Liverpool and Barcelona.

Eden Hazard’s recovery

Journalists asked Zidane about Hazard’s progress. He said that Eden is progressing every single day. Zinedine admitted that Real Madrid’s fitness or medical team does not have any particular plans with Hazard’s injury. From the past experience, Zidane admitted that the main thing is progress to be visible every single day. That’s why the team is progressing slowly with Eden and hopefully he can play in big matches again in April.
