Zinedine Zidane is expected to take over as PSG coach in the summer with Mauricio Pochettino on uneasy terms with sporting director Leonardo following his attempt to join Man United.

Daniel Riolo of radio station RMC Sport was one of the first people to break the news that Lionel Messi was joining the Paris club from Barcelona last summer. Yet again, he is convinced Zidane will succeed Mauricio Pochettino as coach at the Parc des Princes.

“Zidane will be PSG coach by June at the latest,” Riolo said on his podcast ‘After Foot’.

Riolo also refused to rule out the possibility of Zidane coaching Kylian Mbappe at PSG, even though the France striker is now free to negotiate with rival clubs after running down his contract, months after Real Madrid tried to sign him.

Meanwhile, AS reported that Pochettino was expected to see out the season at PSG despite having an uneasy relationship with sporting director Leonardo. All because of Pochettino’s attempt to try succeed Solskjaer that resulted to Leonardo being angry.

And with Solskjaer’s successor Ralf Rangnick only working to a six-month contract at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are set to purse the Argentine again this summer, with PSG looking to Zidane to fill the hot seat. The club, however, have denied making any approach for Zidane.

Meanwhile, there is one potential obstacle to the legendary midfielder taking over at PSG — his loyalty to boyhood club Marseille. Zidane has been enjoying a sabbatical since parting ways with Real Madrid last summer following a rare trophy-less season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Frenchman’s long-time assistant coach David Bettoni spoke to BeIN Sports about the speculation concerning his colleague and remained tight-lipped about the future.

“We all know Zizou is a Marseille man and we know all about the rivalry between Marseille and Paris. So it depends on how much he prioritises his profession. Only time will tell”. He said.

“Will Zidane go to PSG? To be honest, I haven’t spoken to him about it. We know that there have been rumors in the newspapers. The only thing we know is Zizou has decided to take the whole year off. He told me he wanted to rest completely”.
