Chennai Super Kings, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, defeated the Gujarat Titans in the final and won the IPL 2023. CSK now equals Mumbai Indians record of five IPL titles, who won all five trophies under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Dhoni and Rohit are considered two of the best captains in IPL history, but recently former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt gave enthralling remarks on the comparison between these two.

Fan asked to compare MSD and Sharma
Recently, during a YouTube live session, Salman was asked by a fan to compare these two on the basis of their fitness, and he almost chuckled before claiming that there is a world of difference in fitness between Dhoni and Rohit. During the session, he didn’t talk about MSD, but he bashed the current Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, for not maintaining his fitness level.

Salman Butt’s comments on Rohit Sharma’s fitness
The former Pakistani cricketer said, “There’s a world of difference between these two, Rohit Sharma has a big position as he is the captain of team India. He should lead the team by setting examples in all aspects, and fitness is one of the most important aspects of all. As a captain, when you demand something from your teammates, you should also have it yourself, and you should be at the top of the line.
He further said that “when you look at Rohit Sharma, you realise that fitness is one aspect where he can improve and be a lot better. It will not only improve his batting but also his confidence. We have been talking about this for a long time, and I don’t know why he is not fit. Maybe he knows the reason himself.” Right now Rohit Sharma is in London preparing for the World Test Championship finale with the team , the final will begin on June 7 at the Oval Stadium and end on June 11.

MSD impressive as always

KO

In this season of the IPL, we saw 41-year-old Dhoni not only lead the CSK as their skipper but also take on the role of late finisher in the batting order. In almost every match, he arrived on the crease when only two or three overs remained in the innings. When it came to captaincy, no one could do it better than him, and with this, he also showed his lightning skills, which were seen in the final match, where he stumped out Shubman Gill in just 0.12 seconds.
