The final match of IPL 2023 saw a fantastic innings of 96 runs off 47 balls from the bat of 21-year-old B Sai Sudharsan. With the help of his knock, GT was able to set a target of 215 runs for CSK. Although Gujarat Titans couldn’t win the final, Sudharsan’s performance was praised by everyone.
His skillful batting and scintillating innings made everyone on the team proud. In the qualifier match against the Mumbai Indians, he was made retired-hurt by the management due to strike-rate issues. In the final, he had a slow start, but in the middle overs, his gears changed and he increased the run rate.

Sudharsan talks about his innings
Recently, in an interview, Sudharsan said, “In all my previous innings, I batted alongside Shubman Gill, who scores runs with a fast pace, but this time I was with Wridhiman, and the run rate was down after one wicket gone, so I thought it was better to take the chance and play with the intent of scoring faster runs.
He further said that he did not do anything momentous that day. “Ten days before the IPL started, we had preliminary camps where we learned more about ourselves and got clarity on the role we will be playing in the team and how we can contribute.

Skipper is a boon for the team
He talked about his skipper, Hardik Pandya, and said a leader like him is a boon because he gives you the platform to express yourself with full confidence. He makes you feel comfortable regardless of your performance on the day.
In qualifier 1, Sudharsan missed a few shots he could hit, but his skipper gave him confidence, and he can still hit the big shots and score runs for the team. The youngster also talked about team mentor Gary Kirsten, who is well known for his player management skills. Sudharsan learned about different match situations from him that were useful in the final when he was against Sri Lankan bowler Matheesha Pathirana.

The young lad aims to play all formats of the game
Sudharsan was born to parents who were former sportspersons , his father was a national-level athlete, while his mother was a state-level volleyball player. They taught him about the kind of mindset he should keep in his sport.
He wants to play all three formats of the game, for which he is improving both mentally and technically. Now that the IPL is over, Sudharsan will be playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, which starts on June 12.
